| Solid waste collection services are
contracted through Allied Waste, however, the City of Sterling
is responsible for billing matters. Your City of Sterling solid waste billing is
included on your Illinois American water bill.
Rates will change from a combination of
monthly billing and the purchase of City logo bags to strictly monthly
billing. Flat monthly rates will be in the range of $13.85-$13.95
this fiscal year. While the monthly fee will increase, average
customers will see a slight overall reduction because they will no
longer need to buy the bags.
