Joe Martin
is the fourth ward alderman, and is the first to be re-elected from
that ward since the adoption of the council-manager form of
government in 1974. He and his wife moved to Sterling in 1983. His wife, Mary, is an audiologist for the Sterling
Rock Falls Clinic. From 1985-1988, Joe served as a Chamber
Ambassador. From 1995-1999, he was Council liaison to the Twin City
Fiesta Committee. He is a
current member of the Sterling Optimist Club, where he earned
Distinguished President Honors in 1992-1993. He has
volunteered for the United Way, served
on the Midwest Community Credit Union Board of Directors and is an avid Cardinal
baseball fan. |
