The Sauk
Valley Area Chamber of Commerce ties together all the aspects of Sterling's economy that has made the area
economically solid and diversified. Originally founded as an area dependent on agriculture
and the grinding mills powered by the Rock River, Sterling's industrial base grew to
become the backbone of the area. Though much of the industry that made Sterling the
hard-working area that it is today is still here, the area has also attracted a
significant amount of retail commerce. And while the population has grown, just outside
the borders of our City, you'll still find acres and acres of corn, soybeans, cows, and
even some wheat.
The Sauk Valley Area Chamber, whose members
represent this diverse local economy, constantly works to promote the local economy.
Beyond reaching outside the borders of the City, the Chamber holds annual business
expositions, sponsors a seasonal downtown parade, and importantly, offers learning
workshops for area businesses.
Visit with the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce to learn about the Sterling Community and to see how they can work for
you.
