Sterling Business Parks
The City of Sterling has worked very closely with the Greater Sterling Development Corporation to create quality tracts of land that are ideal for light industry and business development. Each of the three parks are at various stages of development and have slightly different usage characteristics. All of the parks are contained within the Whiteside County enterprise zone.

Eastwood Industrial Park has just one remaining lot available. Since it's inception, the park has filled up steadily and now hosts a variety of light manufacturing and businesses. Some of the occupants of Eastwood include a marketing firm, an organ repair company, machine shops, and light manufacturing businesses. Also included in the industrial park is the City's Small Business and Technology Center. This center is a small business incubator that allows businesses to make a start by sharing resources. Additionally, the Sterling-Rock Falls Day Care Center is currently under construction adjacent to the park. The location of the Center is very advantageous to all three of the parks.

The Meadowlands Business Park is one of the City's most exciting projects. The park is approximately 100 acres, with lots ranging from 1.5 to 9 acres each, and zoned business and industrial according to location. Just minutes away from Highway 30, Interstate 88, and Whiteside County airport, the park is ideally situated. Drive times to Rockford and the Quad Cities are around an hour, the western suburbs and Peoria are a bit over an hour, and Chicago and Cedar Rapids are within 2 hours. To learn more about the Meadowlands, contact the Greater Sterling Development Corporation.

Due to the amount of interest generated in having large tracts of acreage available, the City and the Greater Sterling Development Corporation have already begun planning for the Old Airport Industrial Park. Currently, the tract of land now available is approximately 50 acres, though there is the possibility of expanding the plot to nearly 100 acres. Originally sited as Sterling's airport, this extremely flat piece of ground is ideal for fast construction. For more information, contact the Greater Sterling Development Corporation.
