Annual Events
|
Each year, the Sterling-Rock Falls area hosts several
annual events to appreciate holidays, cultures and community.
- Seasonal Sights & Sounds Parade - Generally conducted on
the first Friday of December, the Seasonal Sights and Sounds Parade celebrates the holiday
season. Contact the
Chamber of Commerce
for more details.
- Mexican Fiesta Days - This is an annual Mexican heritage
celebration with a queen contest, folkloric dancing, open house and cultural
entertainment. A large parade on travels through Sterling and Rock Falls. Mexican
food vendors offer there tasty treats on the streets, a soccer tournament is held and
more!
- Rock the River. - Held along the
riverfront in Rock Falls, the event brings in live performers to play
music along the river.
- Storyteller Festival - First Weekend
in September. The Sterling Public Library hosts a wonderful
weekend of storytelling in the park for both young and old.
Nationally recognized storytellers come to town to entertain!
