Sterling Veterans Administration Community Based Outpatient Clinic

With a grand opening on Saturday December 17th 2011, the Community Based VA Outpatient Clinic in Sterling is now open!  It offers a technologically innovative way of providing care to area veterans.  The clinic is located at 406 Avenue C in downtown Sterling.

Construction of the Veterans Administration Community Based Outpatient Clinic is complete.  The 10,000-square-foot clinic is located at 406 Avenue C, next to County Market, in a building that once housed the Medical Arts Clinic.  The final touches were finished in early December 2011 and a ribbon cutting ceremony was held on December 16, 2011. The property will belong to the Veterans Administration with a 10-year lease. This project is the work of Sterling Today, Inc.

Dave Murray, Sterling Today Inc. President said the clinic fits perfectly with the mission of Sterling Today Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to the welfare of downtown. “This would be a benefit to veterans who are traveling a long distance,” he said. “We thought it would be a wonderful thing for our tenants and businesses in downtown Sterling.”

To become a patient at the Sterling VA Clinic, veterans must enroll in the VA health care program. You may go to The Iowa City VA website and click on “Become a Patient.” Or you may sign up in person at the Clinic.
